National Health Services (NHS), the UK’s healthcare agency, currently pays for obesity surgery for patients with BMI over 40 kg/m2 as well as patients with a BMI between 30-40 kg/m2. The practice that brings along discussions is that patients with a BMI> 40 should decrease this value below 40 or lose their weight by 15%, while patients with a BMI between 35-40 should reduce this value below 30 or or lose 10% of their weight in a nine-month period. In addition, it is required the patients to quit smoking for 8 weeks before surgery. Regarding smoking cessation, it has been announced that patients will be asked to have a breath test that detects the level of carbon monoxide in the blood.

These criteria of the NHS mean that patients are deprived of such a powerful and long-term treatment for a long time. This situation, which is evaluated by health professionals as the fact that patients are exposed to obesity and accompanying diseases for a longer time. This situation was not welcomed by the patients.

The search for reaching the most powerful treatment methods such as gastric sleeve and gastric bypass surgery before they are getting exposed to the adverse effects of the obesity disease, lead the patients to come to Turkey and receive comprehensive health care from experienced and technically advanced surgeons in Turkey. Even today, in the process of the Covid-19 pandemic, our patients, who are citizens of the United Kingdom, come to our country easily and benefit from our gastric sleeve and gastric bypass services with high satisfaction rates.
Your health is much more valuable for any kind of delay.
